Being cutting edge has it's downsides
Verizon Wireless is clueless! But the phone is cool. Let me back up a little. Jerry and I have been wanting to upgrade our phones. The Motorola Q was due out around Christmas but it was delayed because there were some issues with Windows Mobile 5.0. Okay, fine...we can wait. So Verizion announced that it would be available on May 31st online. Now what I want to know is why they didn't do a dual launch both online and in the stores. We called one of the stores last night and they said they had it. We got ready and headed over. We walk in, greeted by a salesman who had no clue what the Motorola Q was after we asked. Jerry walked over to the display model that did not have any markings saying that it was "Coming soon" or "Not available yet" and held it up to the clueless sales person. Joss himself said he didn't even know about that website, but that doesn't mean it won't still happen.
ReplyDeleteHeck, the Brits brought back Doctor Who after nearly 16 years hiatus, it was never really canceled. Funny thing is, the head of the BBC, is the same guy that put it on hiatus 16 years ago because he didn't like it. Now he has nothing but nice things to say about how great it is, I think the UK govt. told him if he wanted to stay the head of the BBC, he should leave it alone. :) I think like March 15th they are airing the 9th Doctor on Sci Fi, in the slot for Atlantis. It's only 13 episodes, but that's like a typical Sci Fi season anyway. They'll be airing the 10th Doctor on BBC in a few months, and they're working on a spin-off called Torchwood, (notice, same letters, an anagram).
Apparently it is now cool to be a geek in England. People who used to hate the show like it now. :)
What other show has been around with the same main character (with different faces LOL) for 42 years (minus 16, but the books and audio dramas kept going), and has been, educational, sci-fi, and some horror rolled in. Well, that's Doctor Who. The only one as far as I can tell. :)
Firefly should be allowed to last that long.
