How about a movie?

Jerry took me out to dinner and a movie tonight. We went to Chili's for an early dinner. Then headed to Best Buy to waste an hour while we waited for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to begin.

Dinner was good, although I wanted more tea and he,the waiter, never came back to give me any. I had fajitas and Jerry had some salmon.

The movie, was good...and bad. Ok..the movie wasn't bad, just the experience. Let's face it, people are idiots. The weekend dad sitting next to me kept asking his 7 or 8 year old boy about "all things Potter" that he had no clue about. The family of five, all the kids who were under 6 kepts standing up and down through out the movie. We thought it was interesting that when the boy child would whisper to his dad, the dad would answer back in full volume voice. Idiot! The family behind us I believe had 2 children who apparently had bladder problems. I know one of the kids was very frightened during parts of the movie and begged to go home. Did the parents listen...OF COURSE NOT!! These movies are rated PG13 for a reason. Sure, for a 38 year old woman it wasn't too scary for me although it was a pretty dark film. As Jerry said in the car on the way home it was a great "date movie". Little romance, little action all in all a good film. But not for a child. Let's giggle as the parents who now have to tote their children home at 9:45pm (That's when the movie got out) and get them to go to bed. Yeah right!! "Mommy, mommy, I think there is a cobra under my bed" "Mommy, mommy, Is there going to be a man in our fireplace?" The only one who will get any sleep is "Weekend Dad" who will probably just let his kid stay up watching "Skin-a-max" as he drinks his Miller Lite. Ok..I might be a big cynical because I don't have children, and don't know what it's like to want to see a movie but have to tote my youngins along. I paid my $8.50 to see a movie, not listen to "weekend Dad" reconnect with his boy and the "Fertile Family" to have a night out. You'd think at 7pm show it would have been a little bit older of a crowd. We were expecting teens, but I guess they were in watching Hostel or something.
