Gknee vs. The United States of America?
Commander Adama, in the episode "Bastille Day":
To me this is the first thing I thought of when I read CNN's Article about our military being used to patrol the borders. I guess the the same quote can be applied to the latest NSA's wiretapping.
Why are we letting one branch of the government go unchecked? Why aren't more people outraged on what is happening? How many "law enforcing" agencies do we really need? NSA, Homeland Security, FBI, CIA....it seems like they all have their issues lately.
While I'm ranting here...the president before he takes office has to swear an oath.
And who knows..maybe I'm wrong in my understandings. I still think America is the best place to live in but I fear that our liberties that we have fought for in the past are dwindling because of 9/11. Yes, it is a horrible tragedy. But by becoming a country that no longer lives by The Constitution and the Bill of Rights the terrorists have won. We are no longer the land of the Free of the Brave but of the scared. Our woman and men who are over seas fighting for this country need to come home to the United States of America not "the random states of Bush".
(yes...I did vote for George Bush in the election. And I feel that at that time I made the right decision for the country. I however feel that he is no longer representing the people as a whole. Maybe I'm the minority...that's fine. It's my opinion. A flexible and ever changing one at that)
"There's a reason you separate the military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."Is he really following this? Isn't the current things that are going on a direct violation of the 4th Amendment? Shouldn't the people of the United States, you know..the ones who voted for their president be aware that they are being looked into before it happens. Isn't it my right to know that my privacy is being violated?

Gknee y' know i love ya. and welcome back from the dark side.
ReplyDeletebeing a blue stater who has never voted for any man named Bush, don't stress over voting for the man. The corrupt election had already been fixed and big money always beats the little guy.
check out Peter Werbe's web site he's a libertarian here in detroit and there is an article regarding the 14 known signs of facism.
Guess how many the Bush administration exhibits?
All 14

I'm finding I'm more a Centrist than a Republican. I feel strongly about public welfare. (I think we pay out too much and people take advantage) but I don't believe that the government should tell me what I can or can not do to my body. *sigh* nothing like a little political unrest in my own mind.
ReplyDeletePeter Werbe scares me. He's a bit too left for my taste.
ReplyDeleteI'm a proud Indpendent, and it's a shame we live in a two-party system. I'd love to see that change in my lifetime.
For a while I believed that over throwing Sadam was a good idea, but now I know better, it took Turkey a long long time to form a Democratic government, it won't happen in Iraq overnight.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin Patrick is now being sent over there, when it's your own family it changes your opinion. He's Infantry, he may never return to his mother and sisters in Tennessee.
Thank God though, atleast my friend Andy is out of the Army for good, he never got sent to Iraq. I just wish it was for better circumstances, he's got all kinds of nerve and spinal damage that he'll have to deal with for the rest of his life.
I too believe that at the time and what we thought was going on it was a good idea to enter Iraq. The democratic ways can not happen over night. I believe it will be a long long time before that country sees democracy.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of the lies. The war...the phone records...what else are they covering up?
I know what they're covering up...
ReplyDeleteMy mom, my brother, and two of my brother's friends have seen UFOs. My mom wouldn't have any reason to lie.
I showed my mom's uncle my new GPS this weekend when we were in Pittsburgh. He said he thinks it came from an alien space ship. He believes something did go down in Roswell.
What do you think inspired the government to create the stealth planes like the B-2 and F-117A.
