Oof...what a day. First I had to go in for my yearly girl appointment. I go to leave the house and there is a roach, half dead in the kitchen. I was running late so I just left. The parking garage gate is up and I go to get a ticket...no tickets. Says "Out of order pay $1.25 at exit" So fine, I head in, find a parking space and make my way to the office. They do their little pre-check flight dealie before you see the doctor and send me into the room to disrobe and stuff. I'm sitting there waiting for the fun to begin and in pops the nurse. "He has to go do a delievery, can you wait?" I say sure because I don't want to make another trip. So he's back in about 20 minutes, no big deal. Read Southern Living and dreamt of clean houses. I get done with that and think..hmm...no time for Curves, better do my grocery shopping. I'm still remembering that I have to take care of the half dead roach in the kitchen and I'm terrified of it. So I get my fruit, bread, skim milk and other goodies and make my way home. I'm STARVING so I think, How about a nice MMCFL (Mint mocha chip frappuccino light). Needless to say...Starbucks pit stop :) I get in the house and drag my drinking water and food into the kitchen. I verify that the half dead roach is still half dead and put my groceries away. Now to deal with the roach. I don't want to smoosh it..it will crunch and I'll hurl. So I decide to open up the doors all the way outside and sweep the huge bug out. I'm totally stressing as I'm sweeping thinking that it's going to jump alive and scurry up the broom and get me. Finally it's outside and part of the yard. I gave a huge sigh of relief and closed up the house again. Next item was Weight Watchers. I wanted to use the excuse that the roach was causing me not to go but I didn't. I really didn't want to face the fact that Vegas last week was pretty much a bad week for "plan". I grabbed my bottle of water and made my way. This is one of those times I'm SO thankful I went. Sure, I gained..but I went. I'm proud of myself for going. :) I'm heading home feeling all good about my morning so far. I live on a one way street so you have to take the other one way to get to a cross street to back track to my house. So I'm tooling along in the left hand lane and this city bus is to the right of me. It comes into my lane and drives me off the road. I'm freakin' out as I feel my tire jump over a concrete block. Instantly my car starts pulling and I know my tire is shot. Thankfully there is a tire shop at the corner and I throw my hazards on and make my way. I get out and see the rim is bent to heck and there is a HUGE gash in the tire. I find the man working and he pulls it off and says "Has to be a funny size tire". Great....so he doesn't have a tire. He pulls it off anyway and off he goes into his rows of tires and comes back with one. Whew!! Now to see if the rim is damaged. He pulls the old tire off and starts banging the rim with this sledge hammer. OOF!! I don't need to watch this. I start talking to this other woman that is there just to keep my mind occupied and not stress over all this. About fifteen minutes pass and he's got the new tire on my car and says to me. "Today is your lucky day. I had the tire an the rim was easily fixable. Good thing you have a steel rim" So $25.00 later I'm back on the road and driving home. (Which is only about a block from the tire place, but still).
Being cutting edge has it's downsides
Verizon Wireless is clueless! But the phone is cool. Let me back up a little. Jerry and I have been wanting to upgrade our phones. The Motorola Q was due out around Christmas but it was delayed because there were some issues with Windows Mobile 5.0. Okay, fine...we can wait. So Verizion announced that it would be available on May 31st online. Now what I want to know is why they didn't do a dual launch both online and in the stores. We called one of the stores last night and they said they had it. We got ready and headed over. We walk in, greeted by a salesman who had no clue what the Motorola Q was after we asked. Jerry walked over to the display model that did not have any markings saying that it was "Coming soon" or "Not available yet" and held it up to the clueless sales person. We walked out frustrated that they were absolutely clueless. I then spent 2 hours on the phone trying to order the phones. I got a fantastic girl who was helpful until we came to t...
