Happy Winter Solstice!
That's right...today is the first day of Winter.. The longest night of the year. I have had an odd luck today. Not odd bad..but just odd. A power transformer blew this morning around 7am which left us without power. I decided to get up and get going. I had several things I needed to get done.
First on my list, sell back books. So I head out to campus to the bookstore. It's around 8:30 when I get in there and the clerk tells me they don't do buy backs until 9am. So I find a warm spot in the library and web surfed on my phone for about 30 minutes. Finally at 9am I get my books sold for a whole $10.50. WOO HOO!!! I had to go to Sams to see if they had an item for Jerry for Christmas. I walk up to the door...UGH..they aren't open until 10am for members. Gold Key and Business members can get in earlier. I head back to the car and do some more surfing on my phone. I finally pull out my card around 10am to get it ready. DOH!! I'm a business member. oh well. So I head inside and didn't find what I was looking for. I knew that another store had it so I head on over. I make my purchases and think to myself. Mmmmm...soup. Panera is close, I head over and order soup. "Sorry, our soup won't be ready for about another hour. We forgot to turn on the warming plates". Grrr! I smile and cheerifully say "Okay, bye" and head out. After all this, I totally deserve a Peppermint Mocha. I head into Starbucks. I get my drink and walk out the door to find a $5 bill on the ground. I look around, pick it up and head into my car. After inspection I find that it's three $5 and a $10. $25..hmm...I better see if anyone dropped it. I walk back into Starbucks and look around and speak loudly "Did anyone drop a wad of folded money?". I glance around the store, no one is paying attention so I repeat myself. Again, everyone is doing their own thing. I shrug and head back into my car. cool..$25
Back at home by 11am and all my errands are done. Now I'm just doing laundry. I'm forever doing laundry...

Dang wierdness for all of us I guess. LOL. I figure you know of the plane that went down off Vilano beach. The pilot and his daughter are still missing. The pilot is the cousin of my former boss and my mom's ex fiance Steve Tillman, who is one of the Tillmans that operate Tillman auto sales. I met his cousin Gary nice guy, I hope he and his daughter can be found.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness! I hope they find them too.
