Wow...where have I been?

It's been a busy month... Work has been hectic with all the end of the year tests. The kids are antsy and now I know why teachers and staff enjoy the summers off. I'm ready too! Jerry's mom had a bout with congestive heart failure and was in the hospital last week. She's back in the nursing home and we are hoping that she'll get her prosthetic leg soon. She is down to wearing the liner sock that she'll use with her prosthetic. I'm gearing up for fun (tragedy pending). We head to Vegas on June 8th! Jerry's company has a conference that will last the week and I'm going to ...well... get away from it all. I look forward to swilling down some dirty martinis, playing with the one armed bandits and doing a lot of people watching. After that I have a couple weeks to get ready for Silent Weekend . Not only will I hone my signing skills but I get to do it with some wonderful people. I miss my FCCJ classmates Two weeks after that we head to Michigan to hang o...

We, Mom, Dad, Jerry and I, are safely home and tired from the trip. I think we all enjoyed a nap this afternoon. Naps are the best. Tomorrow we are going to River City Brewing for Sunday brunch and then relaxing the rest of the day. Mom and Dad will head back home to Michigan Monday morning and I start my new job!

Roast is in the Crock Pot

Mom and Dad are on their way here. They should be here in a couple of hours, traffic providing. The house is clean, their beds are made and the roast is cooking as we speak. I know they had some traffic problems yesterday and had to make a detour, hopefully today it was clear driving. Monday we board the boat. I'm excited. I need this vacation more than I thought. I looking forward to reading for pleasure. The salt air....the crash of the waves...man oh man I love it!

Georgia on my mind.

Jerry and I are heading up to Georgia to visit with his extended family. They are celebrating Granny's 92nd (or 93rd) birthday. (I'm not sure which). So it will be about 5 hours of driving total, with a few hours of visiting in between. Hopefully it will be an uneventful trip. UPDATE: The candle on the cake said 93..so now I know for sure!

I'm melting....

...Or I would be if I was outside. The heat index is a scorcher here in Jacksonville. Currently feeling like 105° I'm definitely loving my fans and AC. Nothing else really new going on. Jerry and I have been doing our regular routines. Last night Jerry did take me to Mimi's Cafe for dinner. It was nice, and their Corn Chowder was very good. This Sunday we are heading up to Nashville, Georgia for Jerry's grandmother's 93rd (I think) birthday. I hope there is homemade twice baked macaroni and cheese...that makes the 5 hours of travel there and back a little more pleasant. I think I'll load up my Ipod with some movies from TiVo to make the drive too.
